Behind the apps

About Me

I'm Hamam Alabdulla, an independent developer from Qatar. Since 2024 I've designed, built, and shipped 51 apps end-to-end — games, education, marketplaces, and everyday tools — every one of them bilingual in Arabic and English. What drives me is simple: building things people in the Gulf actually use.

How I see a device

I'm drawn to the unusual projects — the ones that use a device to its full potential.

  • A camera isn't only for photos; it's an optical sensor.
  • A speaker isn't only for music; it's a programmable acoustic signal generator.
  • A microphone is a pressure-wave sensor.
  • An accelerometer is a motion and vibration detector.
  • A flashlight isn't only a torch; it's a light transmitter.
  • Bluetooth isn't only for headphones; it's a radio — a mesh network waiting to happen.
  • A magnetometer isn't only a compass; it's a magnetic-field sensor.

And the gyroscope, barometer, GPS, UWB, NFC, LiDAR, the light and proximity sensors, and the haptic engine — every one an instrument.
